Piedmont University offers programs of study, both at the undergraduate and graduate level, that may lead to professional licensure within the state of Georgia. Specific requirements for licensure vary among states; students are encouraged to fully understand the requirements of their home state prior to enrollment in Piedmont’s programs.
Piedmont University is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA), a voluntary multi-state agreement designed to provide oversight of postsecondary distance education. For Piedmont, membership in NC-SARA is managed by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC). Membership in NC-SARA does not preclude Piedmont students from professional licensing requirements in other states, which may differ from requirements in the state of Georgia.
Students seeking licensure in other states should review closely the academic requirements of the Piedmont program and directly contact the applicable licensure board(s) in their home state to determine efficacy. Licensure boards may require internships or field experiences that differ from what is required as a part of the Piedmont program. It is the responsibility of the student completing the licensure program to confirm with the licensing board(s) in their home state the extent to which the Piedmont program fulfils that state’s licensing requirements. Piedmont shall not be held liable if the student is unable to qualify for licensure or certification.
Licensure information for fully online programs is provided below. We continue to work to confirm whether our programs meet specific state licensure requirements. Additional information will be added to this page as it becomes available.
If you have questions about a specific program, please contact the dean or department chair for more information.
