Become an Expert Investigator.
Are you a science enthusiast with a desire to help solve cases and investigate crime scenes? Or a seasoned veteran who wants to upskill and learn using the latest in scientific investigation techniques and cutting-edge technology? Piedmont University's Master of Science in Forensic Science is a groundbreaking program featuring a unique mix of active fieldwork and time in the lab.
Our MS in Forensic Science is not just a degree—it is a gateway to a lucrative career in forensic investigation. While most forensic science programs focus solely on forensic anthropology, Piedmont's curriculum ensures hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom, including ballistics and DNA analysis, uncovering pig cadavers at Piedmont's on-campus body farm, and exclusive opportunities to investigate real crime scenes and work in the GBI lab located nearby in Cleveland, GA. Our strong reputation and unique curriculum sets our graduates apart as well-rounded job candidates equipped to meet the challenges of professional work in the field.
Forensic Science graduate students will also have the opportunity to learn from faculty with extensive real-world experience as investigators for the FBI, GBI, and other state and federal agencies. Our faculty members were handpicked for their advanced certifications and extensive backgrounds in forensic investigation. Students will even have the opportunity to graduate with advanced certification in ballistics and will learn from an internationally certified Crime Scene Technician.
Piedmont's reputation in Forensic Science has led to a 100% placement rate in either an employed position or a graduate program for undergraduate alumni.
Piedmont's MS in Forensic Science program was developed to meet the increasing demand in federal, state, and local agencies across the country for qualified, skilled forensic investigation professionals. State and local laboratories in Georgia alone are operating at 40–50 percent deficits in services related to biological and chemical analysis. Many agencies are recognizing this gap and may even sponsor your enrollment in Piedmont's program, reflecting the program's immediate relevance in filling the workforce needs of agencies all over the country. By graduating with an MS in Forensic Science, Piedmont alumni will also fulfill federal requirements that job applicants have a master's degree to work in the field—paving the way for your success in prestigious federal agencies.
In Piedmont University's MS in Forensic Science program, we bridge the gap between students and the demands of real-world investigation. Apply now and take the first step on a journey that will propel you straight into agency work as a highly skilled and qualified forensic investigator.
