Shannon Williamson
Assistant Professor, Nursing
Dr. Williamson received her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Williamson holds the certificate of clinical competence, SC, NC and GA state licensures. In addition, she is a Fellow for Neurofeedback and holds advanced orofacial myology training and integrated listening system certification. She has previously been employed at Liberty University in the Health Sciences department and serves as mentors for doctoral students. She also has been employed as adjunct professors at the University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University, lead speech-language pathologist and curriculum coordinator for speech-language pathology in the public school system, and most recently administrator in two rehabilitation clinicsin private practice in SC which she founded. Dr. Williamson specializes in childhood speech/language disorders as well as neurological basis for language/learning, and is EEG certified. She was recognized as a Worldwide Leader in Healthcare in 2014 and featured as a top ten leader in Healthcare by Women of Distinction in 2016. Currently, Dr. Williamson serves as an Associate Professor and Clinical Supervisor for the Communication Sciences and Disorders department at Piedmont University.
