Savannah Brookshire has served as an assistant accounting professor in the Walker College of Business since August 2021. Brookshire is a first-generation college graduate of the University of Georgia, with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting. Prior to joining Piedmont, Brookshire earned her Georgia CPA license through her role as a tax associate for a public accounting firm where she specialized in the taxation of middle market partnerships, corporations, and high-wealth individuals. Brookshire is known for her energetic and practical approach to teaching, focusing on preparing business and accounting students through engaging hands-on teaching methods. And much to the chagrin of her students, she is known for “building character” throughout her accounting courses. Outside of the classroom, the Habersham native is dedicated and engaged with the local Habersham community, particularly through her local church community.
