Amanda Gomez

Amanda graduated in 2003 from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Across the Lifespan. She received her Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders in 2005 from Western Kentucky University, where she was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society (GPA in top 20% of her class). She is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), licensed by the State of Georgia, a member of the Georgia Speech-Language Hearing Association (GSHA), and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Most recently she passed the assessment to be a Certified Animal Assisted Intervention Specialist (C-AAIS).

Amanda has worked in the field of Special Education and Speech-Language Pathology since 1999. She has extensive training in Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), phonemic awareness, phonological/articulation disorders, sensory processing, neurodiversity affirming practices, and Gestalt Language Processing/Natural Language Acquisition (GLP/NLA). Amanda has a special interest in Animal Assisted Interventions,and she is also a Certified Autism Specialist. She founded and has been the Clinical Director of Motor Mouth Therapy Services since 2007, a neurodiversity affirming pediatric practice in Gwinnett County, GA.

Currently, Amanda Gomez serves as Clinic Director for the Communication Sciences and Disorders department at Piedmont University.
