Ellett Achieves GAEA Lifetime Contribution Award
Piedmont University’s own Dr. Jackie Ellett is the fifth-ever recipient of the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA) lifetime contribution and achievement award for art education.
The associate art education professor joined Piedmont in 2013.
The Nix/Mickish Award for Lifetime Contribution to Art Education was established in 2002. It honors a member of GAEA who has exhibited a lifetime of achievement in art education at the state and national levels.
The GAEA Executive Board of Directors selects the recipient of the award, which is the highest GAEA honor an art educator can receive. Recipients must have a minimum of 25 years teaching and promoting art education, must be longstanding members of GAEA, and must have shown a commitment to the association and the mission and objectives of art education.
