Why did you become a professor?
I enjoy teaching others hands on/practical material. It is exciting to see the creativity in students as they create their first website or create a public relations campaign.

What is your background?
I was born and raised in Starkville, MS – home to the MSU Bulldogs. I received both of my degrees from Mississippi State University. Before moving into the education field, I worked as the Distance Education Facilitator with the Mississippi State University Extension Service. We provided video-conferencing services to all 82 counties in Mississippi. I married my husband Joel in 2007. We moved in 2009 to Athens, GA for Joel to pursue a doctorate in mathematics at the University of Georgia.

What are your hobbies outside of school?
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, sewing, and reading. I love listening to audio-books on my hour commute from Athens to Demorest. My newest hobby is camping, which I have grown to love.
