PC and HCHS present annual ‘Lessons and Carols’

The Piedmont College Chorale and the Habersham Central High School Singers will present the 21st “Annual Service of Lessons and Carols” with two concerts at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 4-5, in the chapel of the Center for Worship and Music on the Demorest campus. The performances are free and everyone is invited.

The concert will include the Piedmont Chorale, conducted by Lauren Ringwall and composed of singers from the college and the northeast Georgia community; and the Habersham Singers, conducted by Bobby Ivey. The choirs will be accompanied by organist Joy Hayner, and soloists Andrea Price and Jonathan Pilkington, all members of the Piedmont department of music.

The ensemble will perform works by Bach, Handel, and Mendelssohn, along with the traditional carols and hymns of the holiday season.

During the performance, Piedmont faculty and staff will read lessons from the Bible, including passages from St. Luke, St. Matthew, Isaiah, and Genesis.
